Activities - (besides salmon fishing!)
There is a lot to do in this area besides salmon fishing!! Peter suggests that you consider enhancing your fishing charter with other activities.
Speaking of enhancement, If you're here in the Fall, participate with us in the salmon enhancement program as we gather eggs for the salmon hatchery.
Why not try freshwater heli-fishing on the west coast of British Columbia? River and stream heli-fishing in the early spring is unbelievable for trout and steelhead fishing.
If fresh seafood appeals to you, try your hand at prawning and crabbing in the local waters. Of course this is all in addition to your days spent salmon fishing for the acrobatic Coho (silver) salmon or the mighty Chinook (King) salmon that are plentiful in these BC waters.
Have you tried sea kayaking? Dent Island Lodge has 2 kayaks they make available to their guests for paddling around the waters of the protected bay behind Dent Island.
If whale watching, bear viewing or checking out the wild waters of the Arran & Dent Rapids is more your speed, tour arrangements can be made for you.
Lounging around and relaxing is definitely an option on a Salmon West Salmon Fishing Charter! After all this is your fishing vacation. There are numerous decks to relax on and views to enjoy at Dent Island Lodge including the incredible view from the hot tub overlooking the Canoe Pass Rapids.
A short hike for those who wish to explore the local terrain: a trail follows the shoreline around to Burnt Bluff, overlooking Tugboat Pass. Hiking boots aren't necessary, but agility is... the trail is rough-cut from the forest and twists and turns its way to a stunning view of the waters off Canada's magnificent west coast.
